Madrid, Spain:

Manu del Moral and Juan Angel Albin scored to give Getafe a 2-0 win over FC Barcelona on Saturday in the Spanish league.

Barcelona's second road defeat saw it miss a chance to overtake idle leader Real Madrid and top the league for at least a night.

Instead, the Catalan club was joined in second by Valencia, which beat Murcia 3-0 behind a double from David Villa.

Madrid, which plays Mallorca on Sunday, has 25 points. Barcelona, Valencia and Villarreal, which plays Sevilla on Sunday, have 24.

Del Moral squeezed between three Barcelona defenders in the 27th minute to meet Daniel Cata Diaz's header before bouncing his shot beyond Victor Valdes inside the post.

Albin put the game away on the stroke of injury time, collecting Ikechukwu Uche's pass at the top of the area and slotted it past Valdes.

"We need to find a solution," Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard said of the Catalan club's road woes. "In attack we did very little. We didn't create any danger and that's significant. Nothing worked."

Valencia snapped a four-game home losing streak at the Mestalla.

David Albelda collected a loose ball to send Villa in alone in the 26th, the Spain striker shooting underneath goalkeeper Antonio Notario Villa kicked out to redirect David Silva's pass inside the near post for his fourth of the season in the 51st.

Ivan Helguera headed in Silva's swinging cross in the 12th to open as coach Ronald Koeman earned his first victory since taking over for the fired Quique Sanchez Flores last week.

"We changed some things this week and we scored goals," Villa said. "I think the crowd enjoyed it."

Getafe won its third straight to improve to 14 points, overtaking Murcia which stayed at 13.

Barcelona controlled play in the first half, but goalkeeper Roberto Abbondanzieri denied Thierry Henry in the 24th after Andres Iniesta sent the France striker in between two defenders.

Two minutes later, Carles Puyol was booked for a foul on Uche, and the following free kick led to the goal.

Uche backheeled to put Francisco Sousa through into the area alone in the 42nd, but Valdes deflected the midfielder's shot out for a corner.

Getafe stymied Barcelona's potent offense in the second half, and Rijkaard brought on teenage forwards Bojan Krkic and Giovani Dos Santos for Lionel Messi and Ronaldinho.

Barcelona played with 10 men for the final five minutes after substitute Gianluca Zambrotta was sent off.

The rest of the 12th round games to be played Sunday include: Almeria vs Atletico Madrid; Valladolid vs Levante; Real Betis vs Zaragoza; Recreativo Huelva vs Osasuna; Espanyol vs Athletic Bilbao; and Deportivo La Coruna vs Racing Santander.
