Santander, Spain:
Ludovic Giuly and Samuel Eto'o both scored on their debuts as a new look Barcelona team began their La Liga campaign with a 2-0 win at Racing Santander on Sunday. Henrik Larsson, Deco and Juliano Belletti also impressed in their first game for the Spanish giants. Talented side Barcelona travelled to Racing Santander without injured Brazilian star Ronaldinho, but there was still enough talent on display to make them favourites to win their Spanish league season opener. The first goal came in the second half with Deco finding Juliano Belletti who did well to spot Giuly's run at the back post, and the French international's finish from close range gave Aouate no chance. Frank Rijkaard's men were now on track for the three points, and they were all but secured when Xavi burst into the box to win a penalty. Former Mallorca striker Eto'o happily took the opportunity to tuck home him first goal for his new club from the penalty spot, to make it 2-0 on the night. Barcelona off to a winning start after showing off the attacking talent which has many believing they'll be challenging Real Madrid and Valencia all the way for the La Liga title this season.
