New Delhi:

Zinedine Zidane has retired from international football. The 32-year-old Real Madrid player announced his decision to quit internationals following the Euro 2004 this summer. Zidane has played 93 times for France, scoring 26 goals. He helped France to victory at the 1998 World Cup, scoring twice in the final against Brazil, and starred in the 2000 European Championship win. His last appearance was in France's Euro 2004 quarterfinal defeat to Greece. Zidane is expected to continue club soccer with Real Madrid when his contract expires in 2007.
