A goal either side of half time from Jorge Andrade and Pedro Munitis gave Spanish side Deportivo La Coruna a place in the finals of the Intertoto Cup on Wednesday. They beat Newcastle of the English Premiership two-one at St. James' Park and four-two on aggregate. Newcastle's James Milner looked to have set up an enthralling tie after giving Newcastle the lead in the 39th minute - with their away goal from the first leg they then had the advantage. However, Andrade brought the sides level in the last moments of the first half and Pedro Munitis took advantage of a nightmarish defensive error from Robbie Elliott to make it two-one three minutes after the restart. Deportivo had their goalkeeper Jose Molina to thank for keeping them in the game. The Spanish international made a string of fine saves to keep Newcastle at bay. Deportivo will now take on Marseille for a place in the U.E.F.A. Cup proper later in the season after the French side beat Lazio of Italy three-one for a four-one aggregate win. (AP)
