Olympique Marseille's dismal start to the French Ligue 1 season continued on Saturday with a two-nil defeat at Racing Lens. The eight-time French champions, who began the campaign with a two-nil home defeat by Bordeaux last weekend, suffered throughout a one-sided match between two clubs still on course for a UEFA Cup spot via the Intertoto Cup. Lens, who were beaten two-nil by Nantes in their first outing, bounced back with goals by Seydou Keita after 38 minutes, following up after a penalty by fellow midfielder Jerome Leroy had been kicked out by Marseille goalkeeper Cedric Carrasso. Brazilian defender Vitorino Hilton headed home a free-kick in the 61st minute to seal the three points at the Stade Felix Bollaert. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
