Zlatan Ibrahimovic and David Trezeguet scored three goals between them in five minutes Saturday to lead defending champion Juventus to a 4-1 win at AS Roma. An 11th win in 12 matches lifted the Turin powerhouse to 33 points, five clear of second-place AC Milan which is at third-place Fiorentina on Sunday. Under pressure The Roman team, coming off three consecutive wins, put Juventus under pressure during the first half but it was Pavel Nedved to put the visiting team in front at Stadio Olimpico with a precise header in first-half injury time. Sweden striker Ibrahimovic made it 2-0 in the 56th with a spectacular goal, beating Samuel Kuffour and scoring with a powerful right-foot shot. Trezeguet scored in the 59th and 61st to put Juventus 4-0 up in front of astonished Roman fans. The Frenchman took his season tally to nine goals with a header off a long cross from Gianluca Zambrotta and an easy kick from a few meters on a low cross by Ibrahimovic. The France striker has 109 goals since joining Juve in 2000. Points slip Roma got its only goal in the 65th, a penalty kick converted by captain Francesco Totti. The referee ejected Lilian Thuram, who had fouled Vincenzo Montella as he was rushing toward the net. One player down for nearly half an hour, Juventus took a few risks. Its defense is the best in Serie A, with six goals allowed in 12 matches. Roma, which missed forwards Antonio Cassano and Amantino Mancini, slipped 15 points behind the league leader, with 18 points. Cassano was again dropped from the team following a contract dispute, while Mancini was injured while warming up before the kickoff. Udinese beat Messina In another match Saturday, Brazilian midfielder Felipe scored in the closing minutes and Udinese beat underdog Messina 1-0 to end its four-match winless streak in the Serie A. Felipe headed in his first goal this season in the 87th minute off a corner kick at Friuli stadium. Minutes before the goal, Ghanian midfielder Sulley Muntari had struck Messina's crossbar with a volley from the edge of the area. The win improved Udinese record to 5-2-5, lifting it to 17 points, the same as Sampdoria and Empoli. Udinese, which is at Panathinaikos in a Champions League Group C match Tuesday, was without its top striker Vincenzo Iaquinta who was injured during Italy's friendly against Ivory Coast last Wednesday. The sixth loss of the season left Messina with eight points, close to the bottom of the standings. (AP)
