Manchester City:

Arsenal entertained Manchester City on Sunday looking for a win that would take them back to the top of the Premier League ahead of Manchester United. They dominated the early stages at a rain-swept Highbury. A typically slick passing move almost led to an opener in the 10th minute. Lauren exchanged passes with Freddie Ljungberg, and then set up Thierry Henry for what looked like a straightforward finish. But the Frenchman's effort found the post before David James smothered. The deadlock was broken after 39 minutes, however, when Dennis Bergkamp's cross from the left was turned in from close range by Richard Dunne, under pressure from Freddie Ljungberg. Arsenal's new Spanish striker Jose Antonio Reyes made his debut as a 70th-minute substitute following his 17 million pound (US$30.79 million) transfer from Sevilla. He almost had an immediate impact but his goal-bound effort was saved by James. Seven minutes from time Henry all but ensured victory, collecting Pires' pass before unleashing a superb drive into the top corner. City's French striker Nicolas Anelka pulled one back in the dying seconds - but was immediately sent off against his former club following an altercation with Ashley Cole as he tried to retrieve the ball from the Arsenal defender and force a quick restart. Cole received only a yellow card. The win sees Arsenal move two points clear of United at the top of the table. City are 15th. (AP)
