New Delhi:

Zama-Renda Naychapi is the latest gift from Ecuador to hosts Germany. Naychapi, who belongs to the Shuar tribe, is a shaman who practices magic for healing and was brought to Germany to cleanse all 12 World Cup venues of evil spirits. "When Ecuador qualified for the World Cup, we thought about what we could bring to Germany. It is a big present from this little country to be in the World Cup and they wanted to bring a present back, so we thought about what Germany is missing," said Beate Zwermann-Seibert of the Ecuadorian Tourist Office The Shaman himself believes he cannot help his country win the title in its second successive world cup appearance. He feels time-tested human virtues will decide the victor, not any external or supernatural force. "The one with the best heart and the strongest spirit will win the World Cup," says Naychapi.
