Rome:
Longtime Chelsea target Andriy Shevchenko has said he may leave AC Milan. The Ukraine striker had joined the Milan club in 1999. On Friday, he said his recent meeting with Italy's outgoing premier and AC Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi was intended to discuss the possibility of a transfer. "It's not a final decision ... this has nothing to do with money. It is a family issue. It does not involve my relations with the teammates and the coach," the 29-year-old said. Earlier on Friday, Berlusconi let slip that Shevchenko was considering a move when a youngster outside his office asked him to give his regards to the star striker. English champion Chelsea has long been linked with a move for the Ukraine striker and, backed by billionaire businessman Roman Abramovich, is likely the only club that could afford to buy him. British papers have reported that Chelsea will offer Argentina striker Hernan Crespo as part of a move worth about $76 million. (AP)Topics mentioned in this article
