Nyon, Switzerland:
UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against Celtic for the second time in five weeks after its fans allegedly set off fireworks and displayed an offensive banner at last week's Europa League match against Udinese.
Supporters of the Scottish club hoisted a banner criticizing UEFA after European football's governing body fined Celtic €15,000 ($19,877) for the singing by fans of Irish political songs during a game with Rennes.
UEFA says the case will be heard by its control and disciplinary body on Jan. 26.
Celtic were fined over pro-Irish Republican Army songs. Celtic traditionally draw support from Catholics and those in favour of Irish independence.
