Dubai:
A former top Asian Football Confederation official is calling on Mohamed bin Hammam to step down from the organization over vote-buying allegations.
Peter Velappan, the AFC's general secretary from 1978-2007, also said on Tuesday that FIFA's entire executive committee to resign in the wake of former vice president Jack Warner's decision to quit.
He said AFC President Bin Hammam should resign from the AFC along with those on the executive committee as part of a cleanup of international soccer.
Bin Hammam and Warner were suspended by FIFA last month after bribery allegations during bin Hammam's campaign to become FIFA president. Warner resigned from FIFA on Monday, putting an end to his investigation by its ethics committee.
