New Delhi: Carlos Teves is free to leave Manchester City if he so wishes. According to team manager Roberto Mancini, the Argentinian player can leave if he does not believe in the 'team's projects anymore.'
According to an article in the Guardian, Mancini is believed to have said that he will not stand in Tevez's way if the player opts out. "He's got a five-year contract but I always say that, in my opinion, a player should stay here only if he believes in the project and he's happy to stay at the club," he said.
Mancini however clarified that his stand to leave the side if so desired is not for Tevez alone, though he admitted that losing Tevez would be a big setback for his side's title challenge next season. "He has scored over 20 goals and we always say he's an important player for us."
The Italian had earlier said that he was ready to wait on Tevez ahead of his team's FA Cup final against Stoke City.
