When you think of the top clubs in Spain right now, you think Real Madrid and Barcelona. But it was unfancied Valencia which wrapped up its first Spanish Primera Liga title in 31 years this weekend. Valencia had a 2-0 victory at La Rosaleda Stadium in Malaga in the penultimate round of matches after their main rivals Real Madrid were held to a goalless draw at the Santiago Bernabeu by Real Mallorca. A 35th-minute header by Argentine international Roberto Ayala and a brilliant team goal which was clinically finished by Brazilian left-back Fabio Aurelio just one minute before the interval sealed Valencia's fifth title in their history.
