Berlin:Germany's striker Gerd Mueller hailed Brazilian strike Ronaldo, who surpassed the legend's record of 14 goals in world cups. Mueller was speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the golden boot in Berlin. He was a winner of the award in 1970. Ronaldo's fifth minute strike against Ghana broke Mueller's record of 14 World Cup goals. "I have always said that if the Brazilian team didn't play Ronaldo then they wouldn't be world champions. When he plays the team has chance," said Mueller. Mueller said he was sure that Ronaldo would break his record in this world cup. The former German striker scored the winner in Germany's 2-1 final win over Netherlands in 1974 that also marked Germany's 100th goal in world cup finals. Despite criticism over Ronaldo's form and fitness, Muller said he was convinced that the strike would prove his potential. "It is obvious, when Ronaldo plays and they are missing a goal, it is clear that he goes out to get that goal," he said. At the moment Ronaldo may just want to keep the stats aside and focus on the goal of winning the hexa for Brazil.
