Barcelona:
Valladolid hosted Real Madrid whose fortunes seem to be flagging at the moment in the Spanish Primera Liga. And it was Real Madrid who found themselves a goal behind in the 59th minute when Escribano slotted the ball home into the empty net off a rebound. But Real equalised 14 minutes later. Luis Figo's pinpoint cross was headed over the keeper by Fernando Morientes. But it was Valladolid who took home the three points when two minutes from time Jesus Sanchez headed home the winner past a helpless Casillas. Barcelona took on lowly Real Sociedad at the Nou Camp and Rivaldo opened the scoring with a low volley in the 59th minute. With twelve minutes left the Sociedad defense made an error and Saviola took advantage to grab his ninth goal of the season. Barcelona went on to win 2-0. Barca's win takes them up to fifth in the table behind new leaders Valencia, who beat Alaves 2-1. Celta Vigo are in second place with Real Madrid third ahead of Deportivo on goal difference.Spanish Primera Liga Standings | |||||
