Indian Telephones Industries, Bangalore record 1st win in the 6th National Football League.
Indian Telephones Industries, Bangalore recorded their first win in the 6th National Football League beating FC Kochin 2-0 on Thursday.
ITI's star striker and Nigerian recruit Kenneth Onu scored both the goals. Onu scored in the 62nd and 65th minute to seal the fate of Kochin.
With this win, ITI, who drew their first three matches, moved to six points, while FC Kochin remain on two points from four matches.
ITI's Nigerian stiking duo of George Ekeh and Onu toyed with an inconsistent Kochin defence and repeatedly broke through the cordon. More than once, they were unlucky to see their efforts miss the mark.
On the other hand, much was expected from Kochin, after their goalless draw against last years second place winners Mohun Bagan, but they disappointed.
F C Kochin had the edge in the first 20 minutes, but they slowly faded away. They even missed a couple of easy chances, striker Josiah Seton being the main culprit. (PTI)
