Arsenal fought their way back from 2-0 down, scoring three second-half goals to beat Aston Villa 3-2 at Highbury in the English Premier league on Sunday. Paul Merson and Steve Stone had steered Villa to a 2-0 halftime lead, but substitute Sylvain Wiltord pulled a goal back in the first minute of the second half and the league's leading scorer Thierry Henry grabbed two goals in the last twenty minutes to seal the win for the Gunners. Manchester United slipped to their sixth English Premier league defeat of the season on Saturday losing 1-0 to a spirited West Ham United side at Old Trafford. Jermaine Defoe's fourth goal in seven league games was enough to seal the points for the happy Hammers, who beat the Red Devils at Old Trafford for the first time since 1986. Arsenal vs Aston Villa The man who never misses a match, England coach Sven Goran Eriksson at Highbury as Arsenal played host to Aston Villa. It was Villa who went up 2-0 after goals from Paul Merson and Steve Stone in the first half. The Gunners made a few changes in the second half and it paid off. Substitute Sylvain Wiltord scored in the first minute of the half, as Arsenal made it 2-1. Thiery Henry then scored twice for the Gunners to become the top scorer in the Premiership with 21 goals, Arsenal going on to win 3-2. Manchester United vs West Ham United The teams with the worst defence records in the English Premier league this season took on each other, Manchester United hosting West Ham United. And Manchester United didn't do anything to improve on that record. West Ham scored the only goal of the match from Jermaine Defoe. This is the first time in over a decade that United have lost consecutive home games. For the Hammers it was their first win at Old Trafford since 1986. Liverpool vs Middlesborough Premiership leaders Liverpool opened the scoring against Middlesborough in the 27th minute. The Reds goal-scoring machine Michael Owen produced another wonder strike from 25 meters out. It was Owen's 99th goal for Liverpool and 20th in this Premier League season. Patrick Berger sealed the match for the hosts with another long range effort that left the Borough keeper with no chance. Liverpool going on to win 2-0. They have been unbeaten for the last 11 games. But even after that brilliant comeback Arsenal still trail Liverpool by 3 points in the Premiership. Leeds who scored a 2-1 away win against the Blackburn Rovers are in third place with Newcastle United and Chelsea wrapping up the top five. Defending champions Manchester United fall to 9th place after suffering their 6th loss in the Premier League this season.
