Only one match is to be played in the second phase of the Champions League this week. The Juventus-Bayer Leverkusen game was postponed last week because of heavy fog. The two teams have had contrasting fortunes in their respective leagues. Juventus have had a six match winless streak whereas Leverkusen have established a new team record of seven consecutive wins. Juventus head coach Marcello Lippi admits his team have problems, but that it is a match they must win. It will need a win to turn the tide of fortune for Juventus as desperate times call for desperate measures, however Lippi is prepared to consider all options in his quest for victory. Leverkusen has begun the season with the fastest German league start, with 11 wins and three draws in its first 14 games. Klaus Toppmoeller, nonetheless, is wary of a spirited Juventus comeback. Topmoeller, Bayer Leverkusen coach, said, "I don't know how we'll play Juventus tomorrow night but I think since they lost the last game they will be very strong tomorrow." However Klaus Toppmoller might have to start without Germany's mid fielder Bernd Schneider, who is carrying a thigh strain.
