Portman Road:

Leeds United moved back to the top of the FA Barclaycard Premiership on Sunday after coming back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Ipswich Town at Portman Road. Marcus Stewart put Ipswich ahead in the first half. Then Robbie Keane equalized for the visitors midway through the second half. But it was Ipswich's Mark Venus who scored the winner for Leeds with an own goal for the second year running in this fixture. Leeds United went into the match against Ipswich Town at Portman Road needing just one point to return to the top of the Premiership. Leeds who beat Maritimo 3-0 in the UEFA Cup midweek, have won 12 of their last 15 matches, while Ipswich came into this contest on the back of a 2-1 win over Torpedo Moscow in the Russian capital and their confidence was clear to see. Marcus Stewart looked like he was definitely on for an early goal, but the ball hit the post and bounced into the arms of a grateful Nigel Martyn. Robbie Keane had the first real chance for Leeds but the Ipswich keeper Matteo Sereni pulled out a great save to deny the visitors the lead. Ipswich finally made the breakthrough in the 22nd minute when Marcus Stewart headed in Mark Venus' free kick to put the home side 1-0 up. It was only the second league goal that Leeds have conceded this season. The visitors had one more opportunity of note just before the break when Harry Kewell sent in a low drive, but Sereni produced another good stop to maintain Ipswich's 1-0 lead at half time. Leeds picked up the pace in the second half and looked increasingly likely to score as time wore on, but Sereni had other ideas as he once again denied Keane with another good save. However with 20 minutes to go Kewell played a great ball to Robbie Keane who fired in the equaliser for the visitors. Kewell made a run into the box for Leeds but as Mark Venus tried to block the cross to Mark Viduka, he slid the ball into his own net for the second year running in this fixture. Leeds finished with a 2-1 victory and moved into the first place in the Premiership table.
