New Delhi:Indian football team will play four friendly games against local sides in Barcelona during their month-long training there starting on Thursday as preparation for next month's Nehru Cup.
Chief coach Bob Houghton will decide which clubs his wards will play against but most likely they will be up against Spanish second division sides.
Houghton had indicated before the team's departure from India that there was no use playing top Spanish clubs as his wards may get demoralised if they lose.
Meanwhile, the Indian team reached Barcelona last evening from Dubai via Zurich and they had a rest day on Wednesday. Regular training at La Masia, the FC Barcelona youth academy, will start from on Thursday.
The 27 players had a preparatory Camp in Dubai from June 27 to July 6.
In Barcelona, the team will play matches on July 25, July 29, August 1 and August 5. The players will have work outs at the gym in the mornings and Sundays will be rest days. They will leave Barcelona for home on August 7.
