Krakow, Poland: Key defender Joris Mathijsen resumed full training with the Netherlands and should be ready for Wednesday's vital European Championship match against Germany.
Mathijsen participated in Sunday's practice and went full out in an intra-squad scrimmage, putting in sliding tackles that showed he no longer was hindered from the left hamstring injury that kept him out of Saturday's 1-0 loss to Denmark in Group B.
Netherlands coach Bert van Marwijk has said that Mathijsen, if fit, would naturally take the place of Ron Vlaar again.
The Dutch need a victory against Germany. The Germans beat Portugal 1-0 on Saturday.
