Republic of Ireland go as the lowest ranked (18) team in Group C of Euro 2012 and their chances of qualification to the next stage are rather low.

For a country that has seen ups and downs of the largest proportions in the past decade, Euro 2012 might just be a stage to find some consistency for Croatia.

Cristiano Ronaldo makes a big difference for Portugal and it wouldn't be wrong to say their hopes rest on the forward's form. Ronaldo was Portugal's top scorer in its Euro 2012 qualifying campaign, with seven goals in eight games, and is the country's third-highest scorer with 32 goals in 87 appearances.

Coming into Euro 2012, not many would fancy the chances of a lesser known Denmark line-up in a group that holds the likes of Germany, Portugal and Netherlands.

Among the strongest contenders for the title along with Spain and Germany. The Netherlands proved their ability by making it to the finals of the 2010 World Cup ahead of biggies like Italy, France and England.

If there is one team that can be expected to pose the toughest challenge to Spain's domination it is Germany. The Euro 2008 runners-up and 2010 World Cup semi-finalists were ousted from both tournaments by the eventual champions - Spain.

Czech Republic are currently ranked 26 as per FIFA rankings below group opponents Greece(14) and Russia(11). But the 1996 finalists and 2004 semi-finalists, have always proved to be tricky and gutsy opponents. A repeat of their 2004 show could trouble a few teams.

Touted as the strongest side in Group A, Russia would be looking to atleast repeat their 2008 Euro performance where they managed to reach the semi-finals and if possible even better that by springing a few surprises along the way.

Greece are ranked above Czech Republic and Poland in the FIFA rankings and they would want to keep it that way to qualify for the quarter-finals.

Poland will be looking to their loyal fans to rally behind them for much required home support as their FIFA ranking of 65 won't be of a great threat to their higher ranked opponents in the group.
