The trophy of the European Football Championship has been named after Henri Delaunay, who was the first General Secretary of UEFA. He was the brain behind this concept of European Championship.

The Euro 2012 logo depicts the stalk of a flower with three branches. A ball is depicted as the central flower, with the left flower being red and white (the colours of co-host Poland's flag) and the right flower yellow and blue (the colours of co-host Ukraine's flag).

Like Euro 2008 co-hosted by Austria and Switzerland which had their twins Trix and Flix, the 2012 mascot also features footballing brothers, each wearing a jersey in the co-hosts' national colours, white and red for Poland and blue and yellow for Ukraine.
