Theo Walcott scored the quickest Premier League goal of the season as Arsenal beat Queens Park Rangers 1-0 Saturday to provisionally move third.
With the win, Arsenal have jumped to third spot in the points table.
Gareth Bale once again showed his class as Tottenham Hotspur emerged 1-0 victor over Southampton.
Manchester City and Swansea City played out a goalless draw at the Liberty Stadium.
Relegated Reading ended a 10-match winless in the English Premier League by beating host Fulham 4-2 on Saturday.
Newcastle's bid for Premier League survival remains in the balance after drawing with West Ham 0-0 at Upton Park on Saturday.
