Rahul Dravid was felicitated in Mumbai by the Indian Cricket Board. While the cricketing fraternity was out in numbers, Bollywood celebrities and other big-wigs also joined the celebration to honour Dravid's 16 years of playing for India.
Dravid took the opportunity to speak of how he thought playing for the country shaped him on and off the field.
The 39-year-old who retired from international cricket earlier in March, said that playing for the nation had humbled him.
The veteran thanked all his coaches for helping him in his game. He said eah had made a significant contribution.
Dravid also said that he was glad to have traveled across the world and played on grounds he had only heard of on the radio with his father.
