Mumbai: While people wondered why Shah Rukh was missing at the first IPL match at Mumbai, his absence proved to be lucky for his team. He watched the match with a few of his close friends at his new theatre in Mannat and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the match. He's too passionate about his team as they are a big part of his life and there's no way he wouldn't have watched the game to cheer them on.
A source said, "Last year when Shah Rukh went for all the KKR matches, certain controversies erupted. This time he wants to avoid unnecessary controversies and confusion. SRK loves his team and wants all the players motivated, and focussed on the game. He understands that his presence might create some issue again, so he decided to skip this game."
Shah Rukh had told us prior to the match, "I am with the team until 4 pm. The first match gets too nerve-wracking, so I will decide as I travel with them should I go in or not. Sometimes my presence at a match puts pressure on the boys. I will ask dada and the team and take a decision."

With 21 wickets in his first 12 matches at an economy rate of well under six, Sunil Narine has been Kolkata's main-man with the ball.
