Mohali: Punjab Police would be deploying 1,575 cops, including six Superintendents, besides commandos to ensure foolproof security arrangements for the Kings XI Punjab-Delhi Daredevils IPL season-3 opener to be played at PCA stadium here on Saturday."As many as 1,575 police personnel will be manning the security in and around the Mohali stadium. We have a three-tier security system in place which will have six Superintendents of Police and 34 DSPs who will be looking after different zones allotted to them," Mohali's police chief GPS Bhullar said here.
He said they were taking no chances with security in view of various threat perceptions. "CCTVs have been installed at different parking areas in the stadium and at other points to keep a watch."
Bhullar said that anti-sabotage teams have also been put in place as part of the beefed up security arrangements.
"During the past few days, we have also been conducting raids at the hideouts of anti-social and notorious elements, who are being kept under strict surveillance," he said.
Asking fans to cooperate with the police, he said strict security measures will be thrown into place to ensure everyone's safety.
The players have also expressed their satisfaction with the security arrangements.
"Security is not an issue of concern for us, not so far. We are being looked after very well," Kings XI Punjab's Sri Lankan import, Mahela Jayawardene said here on Friday.

With 21 wickets in his first 12 matches at an economy rate of well under six, Sunil Narine has been Kolkata's main-man with the ball.
