New Delhi:Even though the ICC has called the warm-up T20 match between India and Pakistan a perpetrator of 'Spirit of Cricket', Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray on Wednesday said it was shameful to play cricket against the archrivals after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
Uddhav criticized the BCCI and said the Indian Cricket Board had crossed all the limits.
"Given all that has happened India should not play against Pakistan. Playing against Pakistan is shameful," he said.
On the other hand, ICC President David Morgan said it was a good example of how cricket could be a binding force.
"This match can be a great example of how cricket can be a wonderful force for good," he said.
"We are extremely grateful for the way the India and Pakistan teams are entering into the spirit of what we are seeking to achieve here," he added.
The game has been designated as the 'Catch the Spirit' match in memory of those who were killed or injured during the attack on the Sri Lanka squad and match officials on 3 March.
