Bloemfontein:
In a low-scoring tie, Delhi managed to put just 120 on board.
"We didn't bat well," admitted Sehwag at the post-match ceremony.
However, they nearly pulled it off with some excellent bowling but Irfan Pathan's three sixes took the match away from them.
"Our bowlers did a wonderful job and nearly pulled it of. But Kumar (Sangakkara) and Yuvraj (Singh) batted well and then Irfan stole the match," said the India opener.
Despite Delhi being on top of the table with 16 points from 11 matches, Sehwag feels they need to keep winning.
"T20 is a bad type of cricket. Here if you lose one you keep losing," Sehwag explained.
His India teammate and Kings XI Punjab skipper Yuvraj was a relieved man after the win which took them up to sixth with 12 points from same number of matches.
Yuvraj credited Pathan for his massive knock but felt bowlers set the tone of the match.
"We picked up wickets at regular intervals. (Brett) Lee was fantastic and so were Sreesanth and Irfan," said Yuvraj. The win helped Punjab keep their semi-final hopes alive and Yuvraj said they need to bat well to win the remaining two.
Sangakkara, whose 47-ball 43 fashioned Punjab's win, credited Pathan for the victory.
"The wicket wasn't the easiest. But Irfan won the match for us," said the Sri Lanka skipper.
