Chandigarh:After seeing his exploits with the ball in the ongoing Indian Premier League, legendary spinner Bishen Singh Bedi want to help Yuvraj Singh fine-tune his bowling skills further, says Yograj Singh, father of the Kings XI Punjab skipper.
Yuvraj notched up the first hat-trick of the second edition of the IPL against Royal Challenger Bangalore.
"Bishen is keen on working on Yuvraj's bowling. I and Bishen had a chat in this regard and once Yuvi returns from South Africa, we will sit together and see how to proceed," former Test cricketer Yograj said on Saturday.
Yuvraj took the hat-trick at Kingsmead, Durban, the same ground where he had hit six sixes off Stuart Broad in a World T20 match in September 2007.
Yograj was also of the opinion that if Yuvraj works a bit on his bowling technique he can become a 'lethal' bowler.
"I have also been trying to work on Yuvraj's bowling. At the moment, his right leg slightly bends and then the release of the ball, which should have been from over six to six-and-a-half feet, comes down to around five feet.
"I firmly believe if the release of the ball is from 6 feet above, Yuvraj can become a lethal bowler," Yograj said.
He, however, said that at the moment Yuvraj was using his thumb with the arm ball very effectively to dodge batsmen.
"Until recently, no one had thought of Yuvraj as a bowler, but if he has the potential, we must exploit it and use it for the team's benefit," he said, adding he hopes his son can take 300 Test wickets.
