Kolkata:
Buchanan, who on Wednesday announced that KKR would try out more than one captains this season, Buchanan turned up at Eden Gardens amid a palpable uneasiness in the Kolkata Knight Riders camp.
Ganguly, Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Arindam Ghosh and Sourav Sarkar went through the rigours with the Knight Riders support staff.
Perhaps, Buchanan knew about the protest march staged outside Eden Gardens where the Aussie's effigy was burnt. Buchanan and Ganguly spent more than two hours together on the field, but surprisingly there was no apparent interaction between the two.
After the training got over at 1700 hrs, the Australian while leaving the stadium said, "I will talk (about this) in two days"
Ganguly did not speak to the media.
The Knight Riders team management was apparently not happy with Ganguly's outburst in the media yesterday. Ganguly had ridiculed the idea of having "rotating captains" for KKR team saying "tomorrow I can also ask for four coaches".
Ganguly, who during his national captaincy days had a similar spat with then India coach Greg Chappell, said he was not consulted about Buchanan's new concept.
During the practice at Eden Gardens, Ganguly struggled to the short pitched deliveries, bowled by Shukla, Sarkar and a couple of first division cricketers who were especially called in for the training.
Ganguly took time to launch into his trademark drives and lofted shots.
Apart from Buchanan, chief coach Matthew Mott, trainer Adrian Le Roux, physio Andrew Leipus, assistant coach Michael Buchanan, assistant coach Brad Murphy, wicket-keeping coach Wade Seccombe, fielding coach John Deeble, bowling coach Andy Bichel and Joydeep Mukherjee were present at the camp.
Aakash Chopra, Shoaib Sheikh and Cheteshwar Pujara are expected to join the camp on Friday.
