New Delhi:

# India's first victory after 33 years in New Zealand is their fifth in 19 Tests in New Zealand.

# India had last won a Test in New Zealand, way back in January 1976 at Auckland, winning by eight wickets under Sunil Gavaskar's captaincy.

# In fact, India, in their first five Tests in New Zealand, had won four. India's 3-1 series triumph in 1967-68 under Nawab of Pataudi's captaincy was their first ever overseas series victory - the series had provided the first ever instance of three wins in a rubber by India.

# India's ten-wicket win is their biggest win in terms of wickets in New Zealand, eclipsing their two eight-wicket wins - one each at Wellington in 1967-68 and Auckland in 1975-76.

# India's ten-wicket win is their first in four Tests at Seddon Park, Hamilton. New Zealand had won the 2002-03 Test by four wickets while the first two - in 1993-94 and 1998-99 - could not produce results.

# Harbhajan Singh (6/63) has produced his best bowling figures against New Zealand, eclipsing the 3 for 33 at Kanpur in October 1999.

# Harbhajan's previous best figures in New Zealand were 2 for 20 at Hamilton in December 2002.

# Harbhajan Singh has produced his 23rd five-wicket haul in Tests - his sixth away from home.

# Harbhajan's figures are the best by an Indian bowler at Hamilton. He is the first Indian bowler to capture six wickets in an innings at Hamilton. Zaheer Khan(5/29 in 2002-03) and Javagal Srinath (5/95 in 1998-99) had bagged five wickets in an innings at Hamilton.

# Harbhajan's figures are the best by any spinner at Hamilton, surpassing Daniel Vettori's 5 for 84 against Sri Lanka in 1996-97.

# Harbhajan's figures are his best in an away Test, bettering his 6 for 102 against Sri Lanka at Galle in 2008.

# Daniel Flynn (67) has recorded his third fifty - all in New Zealand.

# Flynn's 67 off 183 balls is his second best score, next only to the 95 against West Indies at Dunedin in December 2008.

# Brendon McCullum has completed his 2000 runs in Tests. Having already effected over 100 dismissals (133), he became the second New Zealand wicketkeeper after Adam Parore to complete the double of 2000 runs + 100 dismissals.

# McCullum and O'Brien put on 76 runs for the ninth wicket - New Zealand's best against India at Hamilton, surpassing the 42 between Dion Nash and Daniel Vettori in 1998-99.

# India's aforesaid win is their 99th in 428 games.

# Sachin got his 12th MOM award - his first in New Zealand - the most by an Indian in Tests.
