Karachi:
PCB Sources said the Sri Lankan team manager Brendan Kuruppu has asked for a security update and also requested to beef up the security cover for the team in Lahore where the second Test is due to start from Sunday.
"But for the moment the Sri Lankans have complete faith in the arrangements being made by the board," the board official said.
Lahore is the stronghold of the Sharif brothers. After their disqualification by the Supreme Court, President Asif Zardari imposed governor's rule in Punjab province dismissing the Muslim League Nawaz group government headed by Nawaz Sharif's brother Shahbaz Sharif.
Sri Lanka coach Trevor Bayliss said his players were totally focused on the coming Test and wanted to do well.
"We focus on our cricket and leave other things to the board and management. We are expecting a more lively pitch for the second Test and we are prepared for that," Bayliss said.
The Australian said he would not criticise the pitch for the first Test too much as all teams encountered such tracks once in a while.
"What is good that batsmen from both sides took advantage of the batting conditions and made big scores," he said.
Bayliss heaped praise on Pakistan captain Younis Khan for his splendid 313 runs in the first Test and said, "It was a fantastic effort from him because he batted for most part under pressure. Remember we had posted a big score in the first innings. I think he sent the right message to his players by coming out to bat instead of sending a nightwatchman on the second day."
Bayliss said a triple hundred is always a big achievement for any batsman.
"To bat for over two days shows that he is a very good batsman," he said.
