New Delhi:Bolstered by the return of Virender Sehwag and three other Team India players, defending champions Delhi are banking on star power and home advantage to snap the string of drawn matches and taste their maiden win when they host Orissa in the Ranji Trophy on Saturday.
The cancellation of the last two India vs England ODIs following the Mumbai terror strikes has come as music to the ears of the Delhi team management, who were quick to pencil in Sehwag - he would lead the side in place of Aakash Chopra - Gautam Gambhir, Ishant Sharma and Virat Kohli.
So far, Delhi had played four Group A matches but are yet to taste victory. They settled for a draw in the opener against Punjab at home before travelling to Hyderabad for another drawn encounter.
Even when they hosted Mumbai, they signed truce with the visitors and in Valsad, Chopra's men played out yet another draw against hosts Gujarat.
Orissa, meanwhile, have done well to shrug off the defeat against Saurashtra and look buoyant after beating Punjab at home by nine wickets in their previous match. Under former India opener Shiv Sunder Das, Orissa also had honours even with Hyderabad and Rajasthan in two earlier matches.
The hosts would expect Sehwag and Gambhir to replicate the success they had against Australia and England in recent times. Considering how easily the left-right duo blunted the likes of Brett Lees and Andrew Flintoffs, the Orissa attack look easy meat for them.
