New Delhi:

Anil Kumble is slated to lead in the third Test in Delhi next week once his shoulder heals. He may get into the XI at the expense of a batsman if Amit Mishra is played too.

The third Test match of the series will be played in Delhi from Oct 29 to Nov 2.

Kumble recovers from a shoulder injury which kept him out in Mohali, Kumble, 38, is tipped to slot straight back in despite replacement leg-spinner Amit Mishra, 25, claiming 5-71 in the first innings to finish with seven wickets in his debut Test.

Kumble was in high praise of the young leg spinner in his column, saying that Mishra has a great future ahead. Kotla is Kumble's favourite Test ground, he has 55 scalps from six games at this venue. Meanwhile, even Chairman of Selectors, Kris Srikkanth, feels that Kumble will be back for the third Test.

Of the 131 Tests the lively leg-spinner has played during the past 18 years to become the third-highest wicket-taker in the world with 616, it is the six Tests in Delhi which have claimed him more wickets than at any other venue - 55 at 15.42.

He once claimed all 10 wickets in an innings there to finish with 10-74, joining England off-spinner Jim Laker as the only other bowler in Test history to achieve the feat.
