Statistical highlights on the second day of the second Test between India and Australia on Saturday.

  • India's total of 469 off 129 overs is their highest in their last 7 Tests, surpassing their 360 against Australia at Bangalore in the first Test of the present series.

  • Mahendra Singh Dhoni recorded the first six in India's innings - over the fine leg rope off Siddle. For the first time in India, Dhoni has recorded four sixes in an innings.

  • In two Tests in a row - Bangalore and Mohali - Matthew Hayden has registered ducks against India - 13 ducks overall in Test Cricket.

  • Dhoni's 92 off 124 balls is his first fifty as skipper in Test Cricket, bettering his 32 against South Africa at Kanpur in 2007-08.

  • Dhoni's aforesaid innings is his highest at Mohali, eclipsing his 16 against England in 2005-06.

  • Dhoni's innings of 92 is the second best by an Indian wicketkeeper at PCA Stadium, Mohali. Deep Dasgupta is the only Indian wicketkeeper to record a century at this ground - 100 against the visiting Englishmen in 2001-02.

  • Dhoni's aforesaid knock is the highest by a number eight batsman for India against Australia, outstripping Anil Kumble's 87 at Adelaide in 2007-08.

  • Dhoni's tenth Test fifty is his first against Australia. His previous highest against Australia was 38 at Perth in January this year.

  • Sourav Ganguly (102) hit his second highest score at Mohali - his best being 109 against Sri Lanka in 1997-98.

  • Ganguly's innings of 102 off 225 balls is his highest against Australia in India, surpassing his 66 at Delhi in October 1996.

  • Ganguly's second Test hundred against Australia is his 16th in Test Cricket.

  • Ganguly became the second Indian batsman to hit two centuries at Mohali. Virender Sehwag was the first to achieve the feat - 173 against Pakistan in 2004-05 and 130 against New Zealand in 2003-04.

  • Ganguly and Dhoni put on 109 runs - India's highest partnership for the seventh wicket at Mohali, outstripping the 52 between VVS Laxman and Sanjay Bangar against England in 2001-02.

  • Zaheer Khan has dismissed Hayden seven times - the most times he has dismissed any batsman in Test Cricket. West Indian, Chris Gayle has been dismissed by him five times.

  • The said stand is India's second best for the seventh wicket against Australia - the highest being 132 between Vijay Hazare and Hemu Adhikari at Adelaide in 1947-48.
