London:Left-arm spinner Monty Panesar is all set for a spell of club cricket in Sri Lanka to sharpen his skills ahead of England's Test series against India in December.
Panesar, who will not be part of the England squad for the seven-match ODI series ahead of the two Tests in India, will play for Bloomfield club for a month in November before joining the Test team in December.
England coach Peter Moores said Panesar will head for Sri Lanka to get some games under his belt, although details are yet to be finalised.
"It's a great opportunity for him. He will learn a lot. But, details have to be finalised to make sure they're happy to have him and he gets the right position," Moores said.
"He wants to learn through experience there. He's been there before and knows the conditions are tough.
"There are very good players of spin in Sri Lanka and he will learn a lot. It will also help him get ready for the Test matches because it's such a short series," he added.
Sri Lanka Test players Sanath Jayasuriya and Tillakaratne Dilshan also play for Bloomfield.
England will play seven ODIs in India from November 14 to December 2 while the two Tests are in Ahmedabad (December 11-15) and Mumbai (December 19-23).
Panesar made his international debut on England's last tour of India two years ago. The 26-year-old has picked up 114 wickets in 33 Test appearances.
He last played a Test in August.
