New Delhi:Gangly fast bowler Ishant Sharma is ready to resume his rivalry with the Australians as he has been cleared to play in the home series against the Aussies next month.
National Cricket Academy (NCA) physio Paul Close has declared Ishant fully fit from his right buttock injury which he suffered during the third Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo.
Close has sent a report to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), stating that the Delhi bowler has 'fully recovered' from his injury referred in medical terms as right gluteus medius/maximus muscle contusion.
"Player has completed full recovery from injury and is cleared for full training and match play. Refer to National Team Management for review of upcoming bowling workloads," Close writes as part of the rehabilitation plan.
Ishant, who made life difficult for the Australian batsmen during the ill-tempered Dec 2007-Feb 2008 tour Down-Under, will feature for Ranji champions Delhi in the season opener Mohammed Nissar Trophy to be played against Pakistan's national champions from September 15-19 here.
He will also be part of the Delhi's campaign in the Irani Trophy to be played at Vadodara from September 24-28.
