Karachi:
"We are still not sure about Pathan right now. We will check on his fitness tomorrow morning but most probably he will get a rest," coach Gary Kirsten told reporters at the National stadium after a practice session.
Kirsten said Pathan's strain has been on recovery but there was a feeling that he should be rested for one more game keeping in mind his long term future.
The South African also indicated that there will be some changes in the team for the Bangladesh game.
"There might be some changes because we want to give the guys on the bench chances to play," he added.
Skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni also indicated the Indian bench strength could be tested in tomorrow's match.
"It is important that whenever we get a chance to give some of these guys a go so that they can perform and be on their toes," he said.
Kirsten said India would not be thinking about last year's World Cup loss to Bangladesh saying it is history.
"That was a different team and the past this is a different team and for us now every match is a new match, So we are not worried," he added.
