Colombo:Sri Lankan spearhead Chaminda Vaas has taken a short break from the Indian Premier League (IPL) to be with his wife who has given birth to their third child here.
"We are blessed with a boy, our third child," Vaas told reporters on Sunday.
Vaas will return to India to join his team Deccan Chargers for their forthcoming matches soon.
In a recent column for a Sri Lankan newspaper, the 33-year-old said he is excited to be a part of the "latest experiment in cricket, the Indian Premier League".
"The organisers have obviously spent an enormous amount of money to get it off the ground and they are not sparing any expenses in ensuring that it runs smoothly," he told the 'Sunday Times'.
He said the bowler's role in twenty20 is very demanding.
