Kandy, Sri Lanka:England seamer Matthew Hoggard grabbed four early wickets Saturday to push Sri Lanka to 86 for five at lunch on Saturday's first day of the opening test at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy.
England made good use of the invitation to bowl after losing the toss.

Kumar Sangakkara then combined with Number 7 Prasanna Jayawardena for an unbeaten 44-run stand to steady the home team until lunch.
Sangakkara occupied the crease for 107 minutes and faced 61 balls for his 39 runs, which included six fours.
