Kolkata:The BCCI is likely to ratify former South African batsman Gary Kirsten's appointment as coach of the Indian team at an office bearers' meeting in Kolkata today.
The meeting, to be held at the Eden Gardens which houses the headquarters of the Cricket Association of Bengal, has the discussion on Kirsten's appointment as the main agenda.
"It is more or less certain that he will be appointed the coach. We will discuss various nitty-gritties about the appointment at the meeting," said a BCCI source.
However, a formal announcement regarding Kirsten's appointment for the top job is unlikely, the source said.
The meeting coincides with the second day of the second Test between India and Pakistan at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The BCCI has already made it clear that the coach would be appointed within the next three-four days.
India have been without a permanent coach ever since Greg Chappell resigned following India's disastrous World Cup campaign in West Indies earlier this year.
