Islamabad:Thousands of Pakistan fans are disappointed at not being able to attend India-Pakistan cricket matches due to what they believe are limited number of visas.
The Pakistan Cricket Board says it has made a last ditch effort to convince the Indian government to increase the allocated number of visas.
At present the Indian government has a quota of 250 visas for each one dayer and 500 for test matches but the Pakistan board wants it to be increased to 2000 or at least 800.
The Chief Operating Officer of the board Shafqat Naghmi says they are hoping New Delhi will agree as even the Indian cricket board has supported the demand for more visas.
The Indian High Commission in Karachi however says India took the decision for visas for the ongoing cricket series after consulting several agencies.
Four-day visas are being issued for ODIs and a week's visa for tests.
