After the whole buzz about a rotation policy, Indian cricket seems falling back on tried and tested.

The message is loud and clear. The best team has to be fielded, which also means no respite for the big guns!

Despite MS Dhoni's word of concern on player fatigue, the indication is that there may not be too many changes when the selectors meet in Ahmedabad on Saturday to select the outfit for the first two one-day internationals against Pakistan.

The Indian selectors are in Ahmedabad, watching the Challenger Series and keeping an eye out for fresh young talent to draft into the Indian side.

Not much to look forward to, though, for the young guns playing there. The five wise men will meet in Ahmedabad on Saturday, to pick the squad for the first two matches of upcoming one-day series against Pakistan.

But the only change that's expected is Gautam Gambhir replacing S Badrinath. There's uncertainty, too, over when the new test captain will be announced.

A decision on that will only be taken midway through the one-day series against Pakistan now

Suresh Raina was on his way to 92 during the Challenger Trophy in Ahmedabad on Thursday. Raina has played 36 ODIs for India and was once billed as 'an exciting talent' by former Indian coach Greg Chappell and a worthy successor to Sachin Tendulkar.

"I am playing well now and confident of delivering the goods, hoping will get back in the team," said Suresh Raina.

Raina may have made a strong pitch for selection with his well made 92 but he might have to wait a little longer before he wears the Indian colour again.

A National selector has told NDTV that the only change in Team India will be Gautam Gambhir coming in place of S Badrinath on the basis of his prolific Twenty20 show in Mumbai.

Even the chairman of the selectors is now retracting from his much publicised rotation policy

Dilip Vengsarkar, the Chairman of selectors said, the best team will be played.

Which means that even though skipper, MS Dhoni has sounded the alarm of excessive cricket, the selectors are in no mood to answer his prayers.

Selection for Pakistan squad

1. MS Dhoni (Captain)
2. Yuvraj Singh (Vice-captain)
3. Sourav Ganguly
4. Sachin Tendulkar
5. Rahul Dravid
6. Dinesh Karthick (place in the team will be discussed)
7. Gautam Gambhir (in place of Badrinath)
8. Robin Uttappa.
9. Harbhajan Singh
10. Murali Karthik
11. Zaheer Khan
12. RP Singh
13. Irfan Pathan
