Mumbai:The Indian selectors are in Ahmedabad, watching the Challenger Series and keeping an eye out for fresh young talent to draft into the Indian side.
But there is not much to look forward to for the young guns playing there.
The five wise men will meet in Ahmedabad on Saturday, to pick the squad for the first two matches of upcoming One-Day series against Pakistan.
A national selector has told NDTV that the only change in Team India will be Gautam Gambhir coming in place of S Badrinath on the basis of his prolific T20 show in Mumbai. There is uncertainty, too, over when the new Test captain will be announced.
And after the entire buzz about rotation policy, Indian cricket is falling back on tried and tested.
Even the chairman of the selectors is now retracting from his much publicised rotation policy. "The best team will be played," said Dilip Vengsarkar, Chairman of Selectors, BCCI.
This also means no respite for the big guns! And even though skipper MS Dhoni has sounded the alarm of excessive cricket, the selectors seen to be in no mood to answer his prayers.
