The 'Bodyguard' actress took to Twitter to highlight her anger. She later received the money at another counter, the firm said in an official statement on Thursday.
"Mr Peeyush Sharma @WesternUnion in Jaipur is the most racist person ive met and refused to give money because my name is not "Hindu" enough," she tweeted.
"Im sickened by the attitude of these people,in front of my HINDU mother + my muslim friend," she added further.

Following the outrage, Western Union on Thursday issued a statement in the matter.
"We regret the inconvenience caused to Hazel Keech when she was collecting a remittance at a Jaipur agent location. We are investigating the matter and will take suitable action," the statement read.
"We are pleased that Ms Keech received her remittance at another agent location. We value the trust that she and other consumers place in Western Union," the statement added.
