Live Score - Australia vs South Africa updates
Yes, it was a low scoring contest but it was far more exciting to watch than some of the one-sided games that are happening as we speak, at the moment. Australia fought it out right till the end, trying their best to defend 154. The next ODI is at the Manuka Over, in Canberra on Wednesday. The coverage here begins at 1420 local time, 0850 hours IST. Do join us and have a good Sunday. Till then, cheers and goodbye!
Morne Morkel has been named the Man of the Match for his 5/21 in the first innings. He says that it indeed is a good effort to bowl well against a quality team like Australia. He admits that there was a nervous moment as he padded up right at the end of the chase.
The script was not supposed to be easy for the Proteas as Bailey handed the ball to Johnson and Hazlewood who paired up and began hunting in pairs, successfully that too. Double strikes from Hazlewood put the South Africans on the back foot and the run-rate slowed down for a while. Another double-strike right at the end from Hazlewood gave him his maiden ODI five-fer. But, that wasn't enough as Steyn finished the game off. THE SERIES IS LEVELLED AT 1-1.
South Africa huffed and puffed on their way to 155. The chase did not begin all that well as both their openers fell cheaply. Rossouw came in and played a cameo but couldn't last any more. de Villiers and du Plessis joined forces again and the skipper took the attack to the Australians and seemed to be in a good position to finish the game easily.
