Aussie cricket team arrives in India

The telecast row may not be over, but the Australian cricket team led by acting captain Adam Gilchrist has arrived in India for a four-Test series beginning at Bangalore on October 6. Injured skipper Ricky Ponting, who will miss the Bangalore Test, is expected to join the team for the second Test at Chennai. The players who landed in Mumbai today included Michael Clarke, Jason Gillespie, Matthew Hayden, Michael Kasprowicz, Damien Martyn, Glenn McGrath, Brett Lee and Shane Watson. Justin Langer and Nathan Hauritz, who were not part of the Australian team in the Champions Trophy, arrived on Friday. The visitors begin their tour with a three-day warm-up tie against Ranji Trophy champions Mumbai from September 30.Topics mentioned in this article
