Bangalore :India's invincible record at home in test matches has a lot to do with the spinners. As a result both Anil Kumble and Harbhajan Singh are likely to be the key players in this series. Anil Kumble is the leading wicket taker for India in its last two series away from home, in Australia and in Pakistan. 235 of his 397 test wickets are at home. His average at home is 22 which means he gives away just 22 runs for every wicket. His strike rate at home is 56 which means that he takes a wicket in India virtually every 9 overs. While away he takes 14 overs to get a wicket. Also Kumble's 5 wicket hauls in India are double of what they are away. Good records Harbhajan Singh meanwhile may be a bit rusty in test cricket. The last test he played was ten months ago. However playing at home means he can virtually bowl left handed and still take wickets. 32 of them coming in the 3 tests against Australia in 2001. His record is also vastly different at home. 96 wickets as opposed to 55 in India. He takes a wicket every 9 overs while overseas he takes almost 13 overs to get a wicket. He has 9 five wicket hauls in India and just 2 overseas. Harbhajan and Kumble are fit and raring to go. Murali Kartik may end up be chosen as the third spinner.
