Kolkata:
Upbeat after the good showing in the second Test against Australia at Chennai, Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly said his team was capable of winning the remaining two matches and pocketing the series. "After the momentum we have got in Chennai, we should win the next two Tests. We are quite capable of winning the series," Ganguly told newspersons after his arrival here from Chennai. India trail the four-Test series 0-1, following the defeat in the series opener at Bangalore and the drawn result in Chennai. The Indian captain was speaking to newspersons at his residence shortly after returning to his hometown to celebrate Durga Puja in the short break. Wounded heroes Ganguly hoped that batting genius Sachin Tendulkar, recovering from an elbow injury, would be available for the third Test in Nagpur. "He is getting better. I'm hopeful that he will be back in the squad in Nagpur," he said. On the injury to Irfan Pathan, which has forced the young pacer out of the Indian team for the third Test, Ganguly said "injuries are a part and parcel of modern cricket. Earlier, Zaheer Khan sustained an injury and had to be replaced. Now he has made a comeback. Pathan will also return to the squad once he is fit". (PTI)Topics mentioned in this article
